Iranian designer Behnaz Sarafpour moved to New York City in 1989 to attend Parsons School of Design, where she received the prestigious Golden Thimble Award. She has held design positions at Anne Klein, Richard Tyler, Narciso Rodriguez and Isaac Mizrahi and now has her own line. Sarafpour became a member of the CFDA after her nomination for the Swarovski Perry Ellis Award for Ready to Wear in 2002, 2003 and 2005.
