An LA native, Mai began expressing her artistic talent across a variety of canvases. Her natural artistic ability was first seen in her high school art classes, and inspired by a fusion of both classical art and fashion magazines. After high school graduation Mai decided to put off art school and try her hand at makeup. She graduated from The Studio Makeup Academy at the Sunset-Gower Studios in Hollywood, and began her career quickly earning herself a reputation of being both unique and edgy in her artistry.
Assisting high profile makeup artists including: Pati Dubroff, Frank B., Jeanine Lobell and Paul Starr, Mai has developed a broad education and experience in makeup artistry and diversified her portfolio by working with various famed photographers such as Cliff Watts, Jenny Gage & Tom Betterton, Robert Erdmann and Patrick Demarchelier.
Mai prides herself on the intimate connection she develops with her clients. She's inspired by the personal bond and sense of trust that is built as she helps her clients gain confidence to make their mark; this guiding principal has influenced Mai's career. Mai's partnership with mark represents the shift to a more comprehensive artistry influenced brand. Her expert skills assure that her work will continue to grow and gain acclaim throughout the industry.
