As a small child, Tracy and her mother would sit together, side by side on sewing machines and make beautiful things, getting lost in the bliss of creation. Her lady-like grandmother served as Tracy's first fashion icon. Tracy moved from her hometown of Detroit, Michigan to Manhattan where she attended Parson's School of Design.
Following her graduation, Tracy worked as a designer at a small contemporary firm Arlequin, designed by Martine Sitbon, and with designer Perry Ellis, among others. Years later, still passionate about creating a line that reflected her own vision, Tracy launched her namesake label, Tracy Reese and a second line, plenty by Tracy Reese.
In the ten years since the debut of Tracy Reese, the label has come to epitomize "feminine chic". Each collection presents perfect pieces for the modern woman who simply loves to be a girl. Inspired by her exploration of flea markets and travels throughout Europe, Tracy continually reveals timeless, wearable looks that pull from vintage and bohemian influences. Often using eccentric color combinations, lush fabrics and embellishment, the designs enhance and celebrate the female form.
Tracy has ventured into home design, accessories, a third collection filled with fun and flirty cocktail dresses called plenty frock! and most triumphantly, opened her first Flagship Boutique in Manhattan's Meatpacking District at 641 Hudson Street in spring 2006. The 2200 square-foot space is a global showcase to display the Tracy Reese, plenty by Tracy Reese and plenty frock! fashion and brand new home and accessories collections.
Featured in prominent high-fashion publications such as Vogue, Elle and Harper's Bazaar as well as on the cover of Lucky., all three collections have become fashion favorites amongst industry insiders, celebrities and fashionistas alike.
